Roseline Muriu grew up among the rolling hills and tea plantations of Murang’a County, Kenya, where she developed a deep appreciation for community, resilience, and the life-changing power of opportunity. From an early age, she carried a vision greater than herself, a vision to create pathways that would enable others to overcome barriers and realise their full potential. For Roseline, giving back is not simply an act of service but a lifelong calling. She has always been passionate about supporting individuals whose potential is often limited by circumstance rather than ability. Guided by the belief that every young person deserves access to opportunity, she has dedicated her work to expanding access to education, mentorship, and personal growth. Through the sacrifices and support of her family, Roseline pursued higher education in the United States, an experience that transformed her understanding of the powerful role education plays in creating lasting change. Yet throughout her academic and professional journey, she remained deeply connected to her roots and committed to creating opportunities for others. Inspired to honour those sacrifices and create meaningful impact, Roseline founded Educ8HER Foundation with a bold and purposeful mission: to identify, mentor, and support exceptional young women from underserved backgrounds and help them access educational opportunities that transform lives, families, and communities. Roseline believes that meaningful change begins with individuals who choose to act where they are. Through Educ8HER, she continues to champion the idea that empowering one girl creates a ripple effect that extends across generations. Today, Roseline lives in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside her husband and fellow co-founder of Educ8HER. Together, they remain committed to advancing educational access and empowering young women to pursue their ambitions with confidence, purpose, and possibility. James was born into a family that faced financial challenges, where his parents worked tirelessly and made significant sacrifices to provide opportunities despite limited resources. Although paying school fees was often difficult, they remained steadfast in their belief that education was the most valuable investment they could make in shaping his future.Alongside his family’s determination, the generosity of teachers, relatives, and well-wishers who offered support and encouragement played a meaningful role in helping him complete his education. These experiences instilled in him resilience, gratitude, and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of opportunity.Driven by the sacrifices made on his behalf, James remained committed to academic excellence and went on to build a career as a professional administrator. His work has been guided by integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to serving others through effective leadership and responsible management.Having experienced firsthand how support and mentorship can change the course of a life, James is passionate about giving back to society. He is dedicated to mentoring young people, advancing educational initiatives, and encouraging students from underserved backgrounds to pursue their goals regardless of financial limitations.Today, James continues to invest in community development by sharing his knowledge, creating opportunities, and empowering future generations. Monica Nyokabi Ngigi is an accomplished educator, mentor, and dedicated Program Manager at Educ8HER Foundation, Kenya. Born and raised in Kiambu County, Kenya, she brings over three decades of experience in secondary education, specialising in the teaching of Biology and Chemistry. A certified servant leader and passionate advocate for ethics, character development, and student success, Monica has built a distinguished career rooted in academic excellence and transformational leadership. Her commitment to nurturing young minds has shaped generations of students both inside and beyond the classroom. Monica has extensive experience in educational administration, having served as Principal of Hekima Girls’ High School for 15 years. During her tenure, she played a significant role in strengthening academic performance, advancing institutional standards, and promoting integrity and ethical leadership within the school environment. In addition to her leadership in education, Monica worked for over 25 years as a contracted professional in the assessment of national examinations, contributing to the maintenance of rigorous standards and fair evaluation processes in Biology practical examinations. Currently serving as a mentor and Program Manager at Educ8HER Foundation, Monica combines deep classroom expertise with strategic leadership to support and empower young women. Drawing from her extensive background in girls’ education, she is committed to cultivating confidence, building character, and inspiring lifelong interest in STEM pathways among girls. Her work continues to focus on equipping young people with the skills, mindset, and confidence needed to succeed and thrive beyond the classroom.
